About us

The team behind it

We are a group of friends who love fishing, cooking, and eating seafood. We often found ourselves struggling to translate fish names from English or French into the local Lebanese dialect. That’s how the idea for this website was born. We hope to showcase the rich, fascinating, and delicious treasures that the beautiful Lebanese Mediterranean coast has to offer.

Fish and the Lebanese food culture

Lebanon’s coastline offers a rich and diverse array of seafood, from delicate white fish to flavorful shellfish, providing a treasure trove of culinary possibilities. While seafood might not always be the first choice in traditional Lebanese cuisine, it holds a special place in our Mezze and main dishes, complementing the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean ingredients. Grilled fish, shrimp platters, and octopus salads are just a few examples of how seafood can elevate a meal, offering a healthy, nutrient-rich alternative to red meat or poultry.

Stay sustainable, don't overfish

However, enjoying the bounty of our seas comes with a responsibility. Overfishing and unsustainable practices threaten the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. By choosing sustainable seafood options and respecting seasonal fishing practices, we can help preserve these resources for generations to come. Let’s celebrate the wonders of Lebanese seafood while honoring the beauty and importance of our Mediterranean coast.
